After unearthing a gem that controls an evil monster looking to destroy the Universe, a young girl and her brother use it to make him do their bidding.
MoPOP’s monthly horror watchalong series is wrapping up its second year with a bang! This series started as a way to keep horror fans connected at a time when it has been difficult to come together and feel that special connection that comes from sharing in our love for spooks, splatter, and suspense. We asked the Spooky Crew Discord server that rose from this program about how best to close out this year and they picked a horror film that is, at its bloody heart, a film about friendship: 2021 Canadian breakout hit Psycho Goreman!
Here’s a handful of program elements that you can expect to see:
- Pre-film introduction with MoPOP’s Robert Rutherford
- Costume Contest with sweet prizes! We’ll be judging costumes in three categories: Best Trash Costume, Scariest Costume, Best Overall Costume
- Chat with Robert and other fans during the film · We’ll be announcing the two inductees onto MoPOP’s list of 100+ Horror Films to See Before You Die from the films selected by our 2021 guests and voted on by fans on social media
- Post-film discussion and more surprises in store!
If you happen to own a copy of the film, get it queued up at 7:00pm PT on Friday, October 22nd! Otherwise, here's where you can find Psycho Goreman online:
We’re also sharing that the Spooky Crew Discord server is hosting a meetup/Crazyball tournament in Jefferson Park in Seattle on Saturday, October 23rd at 2:00pm (no RSVP required!). This is a chance to meet other horror fans in a safe, socially distant setting and try your best to understand the labyrinthine rules of Psycho Goreman’s fictional dodgeball game. MoPOP will be there for some pre-Halloween merriment.
This program uses a pay-what-you-can ticket model. Amounts listed below are just suggestions, you can also enter a custom amount if you choose — every little bit helps! All proceeds contribute to MoPOP programming, along with the preservation of our collection and our educational initiatives, all of which support our mission of making creative expression a life changing force.
Tickets are not available at this time.
